June has arrived! What a busy and productive year it has been for our third graders. As we get ready to wind this year down we will be focused on using close reading strategies to read a novel. We will be practicing noticing our thinking as we are reading and jotting down notes to help us connect more deeply to the text.
In writing, we are continuing to write fractured fairy tales. Our students are exercising their creative muscles as they write their tales. It is such fun to watch them work so hard on their writing pieces. In Math, we are studying measuring capacity and mass. Then, we will move on to analyzing data using graphs. Ask your children to tell time using an anologue clock and you will be impressed by their skills! We will end the year by finishing up our Biological Evolution in Science. Then, we will move back to focus on another Social Studies unit to close out the year. As always, thank you for your continued support at home! We have had a wonderful day and hope you enjoy a fun and relaxing summer.
