All About Mrs. Savaiano...
My name is Cara Savaiano and I was born in Somers Point, NJ, where I grew up loving Ocean City's beach and boardwalk. I have three brothers; Frank- 29, Mike- 22, and Danny-14. We are a very close family and I love spending time with them. I purchased my first home in Bayville, NJ two years ago. I live there with my dog Tigger and my husband. We got married on June 25th!
I knew I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a second grader! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Rider University. In 2010, I began teaching at Point Road and from the minute I stepped foot into the school, I knew teaching here would be such a special experience. I am so grateful to be a part of the Little Silver community and I absolutely love teaching third grade!
In my free time, I enjoy reading, exercising, and spending time with my family and friends. I also love to cook for my family and friends and relaxing on a beach with a good book. My favorite color is green and I absolutely LOVE starfish and anchors. I really enjoy watching and attending sporting events. I'm a huge fan of the NJ Devils, NY Giants, and the NY Yankees. I love trying new things and traveling to new places. Two dreams of mine are to visit my family in Scotland and to go skydiving. I firmly believe in taking risks and overcoming fears. Whether it's making new friends, reading a challenging book, or solving a really difficult math problem, I will always encourage my students to set goals and try their best to achieve them. Anything is possible if you set your mind to it! :)
All About Mrs. Bbalo
My name is Nicole Bbalo and I grew up in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. I first started working with children as a neighborhood babysitter when I was about 12 years old. This love of children progressed into camp counselor and pre-school teacher through my high school years. I decided to formally enter the field of education when I began my college career. I attended the Ohio State University where I received both my B.S. and M.Ed. in special education. I entered the Little Silver School District in 2003 and spent the next six years teaching at Markham Place School. In 2009, I began working at Point Road and have never looked back!
I am married and currently live in Brick, NJ. My husband and I have two children, Catie and Patrick. Catie is five years old and Patrick is two. They bring us so much joy and keep us very busy! We enjoy spending time together at Catie's soccer games, the playground, the beach, with our extended family, and especially lounging at home. This past summer we went on our first camping adventure. We are big fans of pizza Friday and family movie nights!
Teaching your children is an honor that I take quite seriously. I strive to know each of my students' as an individual so that I can best reach their particular strengths and needs. I consider our classroom a small family where we support each other, learn from each other, and grow together every day. Thank you for trusting me with your most precious gifts. I am looking forward to a fantastic third grade year!
